Candice Coates is the artist and design behind the beautiful collection of ketubot of Shine 516. Her company started through the desire to provide her talent and skill to the Messianic Jewish community. Not just specializing in ketubah designs, Shine 516 also creates messianic cards and other paper Judaica products for all types of life cycle events!
Unfortunately we couldn’t find any formal website for Candice’s company, but she does have an etsy that displays her ketubah designs. Within her etsy store she makes sure to provide a detailed process of ordering a ketubah and the possible fees and options. All her ketubot take about 9 weeks to be completed and her prices include a standard text and personalization, as well as an archival pen for signing! Like most artists, Candice applies a rush fee when necessary and is committed to making sure each couple approves and loves their design and text before printing.
Although her etsy provides tons of information on ordering and shipping, I felt she had little to no options for designs, and it seems that once someone buys a design she ‘reserves’ it, even further limiting options for prospective buyers. However Noah did point out that she offers various color choices for each ketubah, so there is a wider selection, even it doesn’t appear that way. Overall she has a unique artistic style and her collection of ketubot are not only a testament to her skill, but her devotion to creating works of art that truly honor and celebrate the beauty of Jewish heritage.
